Why I signed up for The CrossFit Open – Iyana Morrison

What made you sign up?

I felt really encouraged by the coaches and other members to sign up, especially after I found out that movements can be scaled. I knew I had (and still have) a long way to go in terms of fitness but thought it would be a good way to test progress each year.

What did you enjoy the most about the Open?

I really enjoyed the atmosphere! It’s really nice to see other members journeys and progression, we all cheer each other on which is really encouraging. I also enjoyed sharing conspiracies with other members on what we thought would be in the open/s ????.

What did you learn from taking part in the Open?

That it is possible to take part, no matter the level you are. I also got a better understanding of my technique as we can and will be no-repped if we do something incorrectly ????.

What is something you wish you knew sooner?

Generally, just that I could start CrossFit without any previous (in the past 5 years) level of fitness – I’d have joined muuuch sooner.

Is there anything you would have done differently?

I feel like I did the best I could at the time but having a better sleep routine and diet really would’ve helped. I also would’ve pushed myself a little out of my comfort zone with the pacing of some workouts
